Xander Bogaerts Will Break 100-Year Old Record Tonight
Xander Bogaerts will playing in his 1,094th game at shortstop for the Red Sox when he takes the field tonight in Oakland.
The Boston Red Sox shortstop will pass Everett Scott for most games played at shortstop in franchise history. Scott, who played 1,093 games for Boston, has held the record since 1921.
Red Sox fans are hoping that Bogey will be able to add to that total beyond this season, he is an impending free agent, but has recently said he is willing to negotiate during the season. Hopefully the Red Sox will find a way to keep him.
