Shocker! Antonio Brown Signs With The Patriots

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Patriots signed WR Antonio Brown. The joke that most of NFL twitter has made for the past few days actually came true. AB and the Patriots have agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $15 million with a $9 million signing bonus. AB is not eligible to suit up Sunday night against the Steelers, but should be ready to go for Week 2 against the Dolphins. What a fitting ending to one of the most insane story lines in recent NFL memory. May god have mercy on the rest of the league.

Many wondered if the move would be coming as the Pats have taken chances on players who have fallen out of favor with other teams before. Some of those moves, most notably Corey Dillon and especially Randy Moss, have worked out while others Chad Johnson and Albert Haynesworth have not been as successful.

Watching to see how this one works out after Brown forced his way out of Oakland without playing a snap for the team will be one of the biggest storylines of the 2019 season. Either way Tom Brady has a large arsenal of weapons in his receiving corps and will be striking fear into defensive coordinators this season.
