Free Agent Tight End Kyle Rudolph Is Interested In Signing With The Patriots

Former Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph was released yesterday, and he has expressed interest in coming to New England.

Rudolph was with the Vikings for 10 seasons, but the Vikings had to cut costs because they are over the salary cap, and Rudolph was owed over $30 million for the next 3 seasons.

Rudolph only caught 28 passes for 334 yards last season, but he didn’t see many balls his way and remains a sure handed receiver, and capable blocker. He’d would still be a big upgrade at the position immediately slot in as the No. 1 tight end on the Patriots roster.

“My career is my career, and I’m really excited about whatever is around the corner,” Rudolph wrote in the Players Tribune. “I think I have a lot of good football still to play — and the fire inside of me to win a Super Bowl is burning as strong as ever. That’s the one big goal I have left.”
