Video: Belichick Is Impressed With Cam Newton’s Leadership On And Off The Field
When Cam Newton first joined the Patriots, the biggest concern was how he would mesh with Bill Belichick. Apparently Cam is doing more than just fine according to coach Belichick’s press conference. Belichick describes Newton as a great leader and teammate. The same was said about Newton in the Panthers organization, so it should not come as a surprise it would carry over to the Patriots.
Bill Belichick is obviously a big believer in Cam Newton:
“He’s a very, very unselfish player. He’s a great teammate. He’s earned everybody’s respect daily. He just continues to do everything he can to help our team.”
Cam has definetly changed the dynamic of the Patriots offense, and the way teams will have to defend them. The offense had a total of 217 rushing yards with 75 from Cam along with 2 rushing touchdowns. Newton was also very accurate going 15-19 for 155 yards. As long as Cam can stay healthy he should continue to improve, and make the Patriots a Super Bowl contender.
