The Patriots Are Currently Favored To Sign Leonard Fournette

Following the surprise release this morning of former Jacksonville Jaguars running back, Leonard Fournette, the Patriots have emerged as favorites to land his services.

According to BetOnline, the Patriots and Bears are co-favorites at 11/4 odds.

The Patriots have a crowded running back core, but there are a lot of question marks, especially when it comes to the lead back. Fournette was the 4th overall selection in the 2017 draft and still has plenty of talent after rushing for 1,152 yards and 3 touchdowns, along with 76 receptions for 522 yards last season. The Patriots currently have Lamar Miller returning from the PUP list, along with Sony Michel, Damien Harris, Rex Burkhead, James White and J.J. Taylor. Fournette is more talented than the rest of them and would be a major boost.

The Patriots have plenty of money to spend, and he could be a nice reclamation project for Bill Belichick. Fournette had some issues in Jacksonville, but it looks like he is ready to move past that.

“I am excited about what will come next for myself. Wherever that may be, know that you will get a player who is focused, motivated, and ready to get to work,”
