Red Sox Star Prospect Roman Anthony Makes MLB Top 10 Outfield Prospect List

Roman Anthony, the 19-year-old outfielder for the Boston Red Sox, has made it to the top 10 outfield prospect list for 2024, according to MLB.com. Anthony was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2022 draft and has been making waves ever since. He has been ranked as high as #9 in all of baseball by Prospectus and is currently ranked #2 within Boston’s system after fellow Sea Dogs player Marcelo Mayer.

Anthony finished the season with the Portland Seadogs with a .272 batting average, 14 home runs, 64 RBIs and 78 runs scores, and was name the Red Sox minor-league hitter of the year for 2023.

Anthony’s combination of bat speed, strength, and athleticism make him a force to be reckoned with on the field. He has a solid offensive profile with well above-average raw power and has shown great improvement in his approach at the plate. He also moves well for his size and has good instincts on the bases and in center field.

Anthony’s meteoric rise in the rankings has been nothing short of impressive. He has been described as “Boston’s breakout prospect this year” and “the biggest breakout prospect in all of the minors” by Keith Law and Baseball America.

With his impressive skill set and rapidly growing reputation, it’s no surprise that Anthony has made it to the top 10 outfield prospect list.
