Red Sox Called Up Prospect Jeter Downs From AAA Worcester



The Red Sox recalled SS Jeter Downs from Triple-A Worcester.

Downs, was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Mookie Betts trade, along with Alex Verdugo, and Connor Wang. Downs was widely-regarded as a top-100 prospect in the game entering last season, but his stock has fallen since that time. In 53 games at Worcester this season Down is tied for the team lead in stolen bases with (11), and ranks second in home runs also with (11). Downs is one of two players in the international league with at least 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases.

Jeter Downs will have to produce quickly to stick around in his first chance in the big leagues.
