Patriots Rookie Kyle Dugger Has Been Dominant Since The Start Of Training Camp
Bill Belichick may have found another defensive gem. Patriots rookie Kyle Dugger continues to impress so far in camp. Dugger, who was a relative unknown out of Division II Lenoir-Rhyne prior to the NFL draft, had two more interceptions today, and looks like he may be ready to replace Patrick Chung immediately at safety to start the season. Devin McCourty has been
very impressed with the rookie so far.
“Dugg’s been really good,” veteran safety Devin McCourty said. “I think any time you can get in there with a guy and just play together and talk to him and learn how we play and play off each other, it’s been really good. And he’s got a chance to play with all of our safeties so far. So we’ve just gotta keep building that.”
Dugger, who is a super athletic 6-foot-2 220 pound safety, was the Patriots top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft (36th overall).
Dugger picked off Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham during todays practice.
Patriots top pick Kyle Dugger with his second INT in as many days. 7-on-7 work near the goal line. Dugger intercepts the pass in the end zone and takes a knee, as the defense gets excited.
