Notorious Pats Hater Max Kellerman Believes The Patriots Will Reach The Playoffs This Season
With a new era about to begin in Foxborough, there will be some significant changes. Ironically, one of them will be Max Kellerman will be rooting for the Patriots success as much as anyone. Kellerman who has made a career out of projecting Tom Brady’s downfall, believes the Patriots will make the playoffs and also believes Jarrett Stidham is a stud quarterback in the making.
While many in the media seem quick to write the Patriots off after two consecutive decades of dominance, they still have the greatest coach of all time and the defense could possibly be even stronger. Nobody makes adjustments to the competition quicker than Belichick, and with the recent draft of highly versatile players.
The Patriots offense will be minus Tom Brady for the first time since 2001, but Jarrett Stidham should find himself in a much better offensive situation than what this team finished with last season. The return of David Andrews will be huge, and if they can get some second year development out of N’Keal Harry, there is no reason to believe this team can not compete.
Kellerman is a believer in Jarrett Stidham, and he thinks Bill Belichick’s, lack of interest in looking at a big name veteran quarterback speaks volumes of how much confidence he has in Stidham.
“Bill Belichick looked at those guys, and not to mention Cam Newton, and said, ‘No, I like my guy more,’” Kellerman said Wednesday on ESPN’s “First Take.” “That tells me something. That tells me that an excellent evaluator of talent, who knows the kind of position he wants to put players in and what they can do for him and what they can’t, says, ‘I want that guy to quarterback this team.’ So, I’m going to give Belichick the benefit of the doubt. I’m gonna say Stidham performs better than expected and I like the Patriots to make the playoffs.”
This will be the first time Pats fans hope Max Kellerman is right.
