Josh Gordon’s Super Bowl Ring Sold For $138,000 At An Auction
Former Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon’s Super Bowl LIII ring sold for $138,000 at a sports memorabilia auction.
Gordon, who was suspended during the 2018 season, still received a ring for his contributions during the regular season after the Patriots defeated the Rams in the Super Bowl. Perhaps Gordon, didn’t feel like he really deserved the ring. Gordon was forced to sit out after getting himself into trouble again with the NFL’s substance abuse policy, which has been changed over the offseason. Although many of the rules that have been a thorn in Gordon’s side are now obsolete, he clearly wasn’t putting the team first. The Patriots gave him his ring regardless, and tried to show Gordon good faith, but he screwed that up again in the 2019 season. Gordon’s lack of effort, reportedly led to Bill Belichick cutting him from the team.
Gordon, is currently applying for reinstatement after getting suspended once again last season in Seattle, only a few weeks after he was released by the Patriots.
Gordon has all the talent in the world, but he certainly cost himself millions of dollars as well as losing out on years of what should have been a great NFL career.
