Fox Sports Called Mac Jones A System QB Prior To The Patriots Thumping Cleveland 45-7
If there was any doubt if this years New England Patriots roster is a legit contender, the Patriots certainly answered the bell with a 45-7 dismantling of the Cleveland Browns. Prior to the game, the crew at Fox Sports didn’t exactly show their appreciation for Patriots rookie quarterback Mac Jones who probably had the best game of his young career in an extremely important home game against the Cleveland Browns. Jones finished 19/23 passing for 198 yards and 3 touchdown passes.
The FOX NFL Sunday crew is calling Mac Jones another system quarterback.
Host Curt Menefee asked if Jones is the best rookie quarterback or just in the best situation, and they all answered unanimously it is because of his situation.
“I think he’s already played for Belichick, because he was at Alabama under Saban,” said Terry Bradshaw. “Perfect marriage.”
Prior to todays game, Jones led all NFL rookies in passing, touchdown passes, completion percentage, yards per attempt, and passer rating. He also has the fewest interceptions of the five regular starters. He certainly didn’t do anything to hurt his numbers today.
If they want to call Mac Jones a system quarterback, I am cool with it. We heard that for the past 2 decades with Tom Brady, and nobody has figured out the so called system yet.
The FOX crew of Strahan, Bradshaw and Howie was asked if #Patriots Mac Jones is the currently the "best rookie QB" because he's the best player or because he's in the best situation.
Unanimously: "Best situation." pic.twitter.com/85yCF7F6f3
