Ex Boston Bruin Jimmy Hayes Dead At 31 Years Old
Some tragic news struck the NHL and Boston Bruins fans as news came out that Jimmy Hayes, who played for several teams including the Boston Bruins, and Chicago Blackhawks has died. Hayes also played for Boston College.
He was only 31 years old.
“Boston College Hockey is heartbroken over the passing of Jimmy Hayes,” B.C. officials said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Hayes family.”
Hayes played 7 seasons in the NHL scoring 54 goals in his career with the Bruins, Blackhawks, Panthers, and Devils.
There is no additional information about the cause of his death at this time. The Boston Globe is reporting that Hayes was pronounced dead at his Milton home on Monday morning. The death is not considered suspicious, per the Globe.
