Drake Maye Is The New Face Of The Patriots Franchise After Being Selected 3rd Overall In The NFL Draft

The New England Patriots are putting all their hopes into UNC quarterback Drake Maye, after selecting him with the 3rd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The 21-year-old quarterback is listed at 6’4 and 224 lbs.

Drake Maye epitomizes the ideal quarterback prospect. With his impressive size, speed, and arm strength, he possesses all the essential tools for a franchise quarterback.

Maye’s arm talent stands out as the cornerstone of his game. He can fire a 100 mph fastball into tight windows over the middle or outside the numbers. Additionally, Maye demonstrates precision by placing throws where only his receiver can reach them, while also smoothly transitioning to yards-after-the-catch on underneath routes. His skill set is a nice fit for the Patriots needs.

Maye’s only downside is sometimes he tries to do too much, but that is something he will learn in time. He will likely spend a good part of the season as Jacoby Brisett’s backup, until the Patriots are ready to unleash him.
