Dont’a Hightower, Patrick Chung, And Marcus Cannon Are Planning To Play Next Season
A few weeks back Devin McCourty said that he anticipated many of the key Patriots players who opted out of the 2020 season would be back next season. Earlier today that was further confirmed.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says that the “key” players who opted out last year are planning on playing in 2021. Including, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, safety Patrick Chung, and tackle Marcus Cannon.
“Physically, all are in a good place,” Rapoport said.
This would be a big boost on both sides of the ball for the Patriots, who are hoping to have a much better showing after a disappointing 7-9 finish last season.
Free agency hasn’t started, but the #Patriots are already getting some reinforcements. Their key opt-outs from 2020 — including LB Dont'a Hightower, S Patrick Chung, and OT Marcus Cannon — are planning to be back for 2021, sources say. Physically, all are in a good place.
