Devin McCourty Believes Dont’a Hightower and Patrick Chung, Will Return Next Season

Help is on the way for the Patriots defense next season. According to Devin McCourty, he has knowledge that Dont’a Hightower and Patrick Chung are expected to return next season. On Tom Curran’s Patriots Talk podcast, McCourty said he’s heard Marcus Cannon and Brandon Bolden will also be back.

“From my understanding they’ll all be back,” said McCourty. “B. Bolden, High, Chung. So I can’t wait. Those are my guys and Marcus Cannon. I just can’t wait to be back around those guys. Even outside of football, seeing them every day, seeing their nice faces.”

While a few of these veterans are aging, their presence should be helpful for the younger players. Hightower may be the only impactful player of the bunch on the field going forward, but this is good news for a rebuilding team looking to get back into the playoffs.
