Chris Sale Receives A Standing Ovation After A Fantastic Return To The Red Sox
Chris Sale looked great pitching in his first game in two years after undergoing Tommy John surgery last March. Sale’s return to the Red Sox rotation couldn’t have been scripted any better. Sale looked as good as ever. He did have a couple hiccups in the 3rd inning, giving up back to back home runs to Austin Hays, and Trey Mancini, but Sale was able to settle down after that.
Sale left the field to a standing ovation from the Fenway crowd after 5 innings, giving up 6 hits, 2 earned runs with 8 Ks and no walks.
Sale has another great matchup lined up for him next Friday when the Red Sox will play the Texas Rangers.
