Cam Newton is leaving quite an impression on his teammates, as a leader on and off the field. Newton is reportedly the first man in during the morning and the last man out at the end of the day. This kind of leadership used to be synonymous with Tom Brady, until he went into a more relaxed mode the past few seasons, so it is a welcome sight to the current core of players. Newton has received rave reviews from his former teammates in Carolina, and it appears it will more of the same in his time in Foxborough. If Cam is not successful , it won’t be lack of effort. Cam is clearly all-in as he continues to attempt to learn the playbook in his limited amount of time to get ready for the season.

Julian Edelman also talked about the positive energy Newton brings to the team, which he said comes from his enjoyment of the game.

“He just has a good energy about him,” he said. “He’s very energetic and has a lot of energy to him. He makes it fun. He’s always in a pretty good mood from the time that he’s been here. I can’t speak on any other place or this that, but from what I have seen and what I have learned, he seems like a guy who loves football, has an energy about him and enjoys it. He enjoys football.”
