#BREAKING NEWS: The New England Patriots Have Released Super Bowl XLIX Hero Malcolm Butler
As expected the New England Patriots have cut ties with CB Malcolm Butler after he was placed on the injured reserve. Butler, who made the game winning interception in Super Bowl 49 against the Seattle Seahawks was attempting a comeback with the Patriots, but was derailed by injuries in the preseason. By rule, players placed on IR ahead of the 53-man roster cut can’t play until the following season. Butler is now free to sign wherever he wants after being officially released.
The Patriots released Malcolm Butler with an injury settlement. Butler injured his hip in the preseason opener before he was placed on IR, per source.
