Video: Roger Goodell Clearly Lied About Having Any Knowledge About What Happened To The PSI Spot Check Data The NFL Collected After Deflategate

Earlier this week, Mike Florio claimed in his new book “Playmakers” the NFL buried the data they found in the 2015 season from PSI spot checks on the direct order of NFL general counsel Jeff Pash.

During the 2015 season, after the Deflategate incident the league did air-pressure checks of footballs.

Florio said that the PSI numbers for games played in cold weather came in “too close to the actual numbers generated by the New England footballs at halftime of the playoff game against the Colts.” It was also reported that Troy Vincent who is the head of the NFL’s football operations, was the source of the erroneous report that started the NFL’s sham multi million dollar investigation that cost Tom Brady a 4 game suspension as well as the Patriots being stripped of their 2016 first round pick, a 4th round pick, and a $1 million dollar fine.

At his state of the league press conference at the Super Bowl Wednesday, Goodell was pressed by Ben Volin of The Boston Globe regarding the report.

“This is a long time since I thought about Deflategate,” this commissioner said. “We were very clear that we were going to do spot-checks to make sure people were following the policies. That is something we fully engaged in and I don’t know what happened to the data, to be honest with you. We don’t look back at that. We just make sure there’s no violations. That is the purpose of the spot-checks. Are there violations? And if there are violations we look into it. Thankfully, we did not see any.”

The bottom line here is Roger Goodell is full of hit. He’s not some idiot that has no clue about elementary school science. There was something much bigger at play here, and it was all about knocking down the dynasty the Patriots built. While it didn’t work out the way the NFL had hoped it still may have had an adverse effect on the current state of the team. The league owes the Patriots, Tom Brady, and the fans, and season ticket holders an apology.
