Video: Patriots Beat The Jets With A Game-Winning 84 Yard Punt Return For Touchdown
Patriots rookie Marcus Jones broke a 3-3 tie with an 84 yard punt return at the end of the Patriots/Jets game after both teams struggled to move the ball offensively. It was the first punt return for a TD in the NFL this season. This was the 17th combined punt today.
Jones, who was widely regarded as the top kickoff returner in the 2022 NFL Draft, had 6 kickoff returns for touchdowns in college during his time at Troy and Houston. Jones also had 3 punt returns for scores in Houston.
This was the Patriots 14th consecutive win against the Jets at Gillette Stadium. It also keeps the Patriots alive in the playoff hunt. The Jets would have taken over first place in the AFC East with a win, but have now fallen behind the Patriots, and they are in last place in the division.
"Here he goes! He's going to try to beat the punter! He does! He's gone! And there's a touchdown!"

The Patriots drafted the best returner in college football and just won a game because of him.
