Video: Gunner Olszewski’s 82 Yard Punt Return Was Called Off After A Questionable Blindside Block Penalty

2020 strikes again. In what should have been the most exciting play the Patriots have had all season, the refs stepped in to ruin it. Gunner Olszewski had one man to beat and rookie linebacker Anfernee Jennings appeared to have a perfect open field shoulder to chest block, but was flagged for blindsiding anyway, which is when a player can not see contact coming.

The Patriots ended up having to settle for a game-tying field goal after starting their drive back at the Cardinals’ 39-yard line.

Bill Belichick was fuming on the sidelines after the call.

Anfernee Jennings clearly did his job here. In a season that has been filled with bad calls, this may have been the worst.
