Video: David Ortiz Returns to Fenway Park for First Pitch

It was a very late surprise as just an hour before the game it was announced that the iconic Red Sox Hall of Famer was at Fenway and was going to make an appearance for the ceremonial first pitch before tonight’s Sox/Yankees game.

David Ortiz was returning to the park for the first time since he suffered a very serious injury in a June shooting in the Dominican Republic.

Big Papi, who is no stranger to the mic at Fenway, choose to say a few words after his ceremonial first pitch. He was released from the hospital in July and the longtime Sox slugger was looking great and adds yet another memorable moment for all Boston fans.
