Video: Christian Vazquez Found Out He Was Traded To The Houston Astros During Batting Practice
It looks like the Red Sox fire sale is underway. The Red Sox are sending Christian Vazquez to the Houston Astros for two minor league prospects in the deal, they’ve yet to be announced. Vazquez was notified of the deal during batting practice in Houston tonight.
Vázquez was a member of the Red Sox for eight seasons. Since arriving with the Red Sox in 2014 Vazquez played in 698 games and put up solid numbers with a .262 average, 54 HR, 124 2B, 5 3B, 266 RBI.
The Houston Astros are finalizing a deal to acquire catcher Christian Vázquez from the Boston Red Sox, sources tell ESPN.
The Red Sox are playing in Houston tonight, so Vázquez presumably will just walk around the stadium to join his new teammates. And the Sox's sale begins.
