Tom Brady’s Trainer Further Discredits Rumors Of Tom Brady Leaving In Free Agency

A few weeks back NFL insider Adam Schefter tried to stir up another controversy in New England by claiming Tom Brady is highly likely to leave New England following this season. Schefter’s reason was because both Brady and his trainer and TB12 business partner, Alex Guerrero had put their homes on the market at the same time. Schefter claimed they were planning to set up shop somewhere else but that cold take was shot down when Guerrero bought a new home in Plymouth, MA only days later.

Guerrero took it a step further to really dissolve those rumors today on an appearance on WEEI earlier today. He was asked about numerous topics including his reason for moving.

“It was a good time to sell.” Guerrero also said he wanted to downsize and be closer to his kids, grandkids. That doesn’t sound like a guy ready to move the business across the country. Combine that with Tom and Gisele buying a new home in Greenwich, CT and it makes even more sense that Brady won’t be going anywhere. There is slim to no chance that Tom would leave the Patriots to play halfway across the country. Gisele has been trying to get him to retire since they met. Tom obviously wants to be close to his family at this point and moving the kids all around the country to play a few more years for another team doesn’t sound likely. Schefter also speculated Brady could retire, but according to Guerrero, retirement doesn’t seem to be on Brady’s mind either. In fact he is talking about playing longer.

“Every year, Tom just adds another year. He goes in and he’s like, ‘Guys, I feel so good still. I think I am going to go till 45.’ I am like, ‘OK.’ Now he’s like, ‘Alex, I think I can go like 46 or 47.’”

Brady once said he would like to play until he is 50. It wouldn’t be a shocker if he tries to move the bar past 45 if he still has it. Tom is not wired to quit. Chances are he really will suck when he retires just like he said years ago. Brady’s father always said it won’t end well for him. I’m sure fans won’t mind trading that reality in exchange of Brady attempting to add a few more rings on his hand.

Brady’s desire to continue to play will not be enough though. There have been multiple negative reports dating back years about Alex Guerrero’s relationship with Bill Belichick. According to Guerrero they are friends and Belichick has even gone for treatment at the TB12 facility.

“It’s great. I laugh at those stories. It’s been wonderful. I see Bill in the hall and he gives me high-fives.”

Of course nobody can be certain what the future holds for Tom Brady and the Patriots, but the theory that was stirred up in the media can be put to rest.
