The Story Of Chase Winovich’s First Career Sack Is Eerily Similiar To “The Waterboy”
Chase Winovich recorded his first career sack in the Patriots 43-0 win over the Miami Dolphins Sunday yesterday. The story he told about leading up to it is quite reminiscent to that of the story of Bobby Boucher from “The Waterboy” who visualized his attacks before the snap of the ball.
“It was cool actually, before I got my sack, my grandmother, who passed away, she always said she would come back as a butterfly and I was tearing up a little bit on the field,” he said. “It was literally a couple of plays before, I saw a butterfly flying around and I was like, that has to mean something. Sure enough, a couple of plays later luckily I came home, my teammates had great coverage and set it up for me.”
“I knew something special was coming. Like I said, it’s something to build off of and I am looking to see where it goes from here.”
Whatever works. Chase opened up a can off Whoop Ass yesterday. If this is what Winovich needs to motivate him by all means. It worked out well for Bobby Boucher. There is no reason to believe it can’t work as well for the highly talented Winovich. Winovich finished with 1.5 sacks and you can expect plenty more on the way.
