The Red Sox Traded Kike Hernandez Back To The Dodgers For A Pair Of Relievers



The Red Sox have finalized a deal to send Kiké Hernández back to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In three seasons in Boston, Hernández hit.234/.308/.382 while playing multiple positions in the field.

The 31-year-old utilityman, who is capable of playing multiple infield and outfield positions, spent six productive seasons from 2015-20 with the Dodgers before signing with the Red Sox as a free agent. He was a part of the World Series-winning team in 2020 and will return to a Los Angeles squad that has its sights set on another one.

The Red Sox will receive right handed pitchers, Nick Robertson and Justin Hagenman from the Dodgers.

Robertson, 25, has allowed seven earned runs in 10 1/3 innings in his brief time with the Dodgers this season. Hagenman has had a solid season in the minor leagues going 4-0, 2.78 ERA
