The Patriots Are Signing Free Agent WR Cameron Meredith
The Patriots are adding to their wide receiver depth this afternoon by signing former New Orleans Saints WR Cameron Meredith.
The 26-year-old Meredith barely saw the field in New Orleans last season, after missing the entire 2017 season after an ACL tear. Meredith made some noise in Chicago early in his career and appeared to be a true breakout player, but was obviously derailed by injuries. Meredith had 66 catches for 888 yards (13.4 yards per catch) and four touchdowns in 2016 with the Bears in his rookie season. If he can find his footing he could revive his career in Foxboro. The Patriots are currently thin at receiver behind starters Julian Edelman and 2019 first-rounder N’Keal Harry.
