The Patriots Are Re-signing Cam Newton To A One-Year Contract
Cam Newton will be getting another chance to prove himself with the Patriots. They are finalizing a 1-year deal worth up to $14 million. Newton had tough 2020 season with the Patriots, struggling to pass the ball with any consistency. Newton didn’t have much time to get ready for the season, and he had to learn the playbook on the fly as well as missing games during the season due to the corona virus. Opt outs certainly didn’t help the Patriots cause either. Newton threw for 2,657 yards and eight touchdowns with 10 interceptions with limited offensive weapons.
Regardless of what many fans believe is a decline in arm strength. Bill Belichick obviously saw something he likes to give him another chance. That doesn’t mean everyone is going to be happy about it.
Way to ruin a gorgeous Friday

Patriots are bringing back Cam Newton but it doesn’t preclude them from making another QB move in the weeks to come, per league sources. This move locks in a QB heading into free agency. https://t.co/hgf4ZhqM5w
