Robert Kraft Said He Heard Lamar Jackson Wants To Play For The Patriots Earlier Today
At the NFL owners meeting today New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft may have dropped a hint to Bill Belichick after announcing that former MVP Lamar Jackson is interested in a trade to the Patriots.
During a press conference, Kraft mentioned that rapper Meek Mill texted him recently to relay that Lamar Jackson told Mill he wants to play for the Patriots. Kraft has had a close relationship with Mill since he was involved in Mill’s release from prison.
The price would be steep to attain Jackson’s services. It would cost two first-round draft picks to acquire Jackson, whom the Baltimore Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on a few weeks back. Jackson revealed on Twitter Monday that he officially requested a trade from the Ravens back on March 2.
Kraft also mentioned that this would entirely be Bill Belichick’s decision, who when pressed earlier about going after Jackson, Belichick in his normal fashion refused to talk about the possibility one way or another.
