Rex Burkhead Confirms He Will Miss The Remainder Of The Season
As expected Patriots running back Rex Burkhead will miss the rest of the season after suffering a brutal injury against the Houston Texans last weekend.
Burkhead’s season came to an end when he suffered a knee injury early third quarter. Burkhead attempted to bounce to the outside, on a 3rd and 1 play, but was unable to get up after the tackle that appears to be an ACL tear. Burkhead, who is in his fourth season with the Pats, had to be helped off the field before being carted to the locker room.
The Patriots have plenty of options to fill his role, but Burkhead had been playing well of late.
Burkhead has likely played his last game with the Pats because he will be an unresticted free agent in the offseason.
Appreciate the support and all those who have reached out the past couple of days. Look forward to coming back better than ever in 2021. ?
