Reigning Defensive Player Of The Year Stephon Gilmore Received A Well Deserved Pay Raise This Morning
The New England Patriots gave reining Defensive Player of the Year, Stephon Gilmore’s a fat raise today.
Gilmore, who signed a five-year, $65 million contract with the Patriots in 2017, was supposed to earn $10.5 million in salary this season. The Patriots gave him a raise to $15.5 million with a chance to earn up to $17.5 million, with $2 million in incentives after other cornerbacks around the NFL Tre’Davious White and Jalen Ramsey recently received extensions.
Gilmore has been the leagues top shutdown corner over the past two seasons, and when it is all said and done, he may go down as Bill Belichick’s top free agent acquisition in his career.
