Patriots Sunday Night Game In Seattle May Need To Be Relocated Because Of Bad Air Quality
The NFL currently plans on going ahead with the Patriots/Seahawks Sunday night game in Seattle, but they may have to seek an alternate site if Seattle’s current air quality does not improve in a hurry. Due to the raging wildfires on the west coast, things have gotten so bad in Seattle that it is currently the most polluted city on the planet. It’s worse than in Beijing or Shanghai, and spending the day outside in the Puget Sound region was the equivalent of smoking almost nine cigarettes, according to calculations by researchers with Berkeley Earth.
This could compromise the health of the players, and since there are no fans attending anyway, it should be easy to switch to an alternate site, including Foxborough, seeing as there is no real home field advantage without fans anyway. The Seattle Mariners had to relocate their upcoming two-game series with the San Francisco Giants because the current situation is so bad, and other teams west coast teams may have to follow suit if things continue to get worse.
