Patriots Center David Andrews Season Is In Jeopardy After Diagnosed With A Blood Clot
Scary news coming out of Foxborough. The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reports Patriots C David Andrews’ season is in jeopardy after being hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs.
Andrews is expected to miss a “significant amount of time.” Andrews was Pro Football Focus’ No. 17 center out of 39 qualifiers a year ago and is a team captain who is crucial in relaying Tom Brady’s blocking assignments. It’s a huge loss for the Patriots’ offensive line. Ted Karras will take over for Andrews at center. The trickle-down effect obviously hurts the Patriots’ depth.
As @jeffphowe first reported, Patriots starting center David Andrews was hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs and his season is jeopardy, a source confirms. Earlier today, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels referenced how Tom Brady would be working with different centers.
