Patriots Can Clinch AFC East, Playoff Berth This Weekend

With only three weeks left in the regular season, the playoff picture is still wide open. So far, only ONE team (Green Bay) has officially clinched a playoff berth, which means 13 of the NFL’s 14 playoff spots are still available.

New England can clinch the AFC East with a win over the Bills and a Miami loss/tie against the Saints on Monday Night Football.

The Pats can also clinch a playoff berth with a number of different scenarios, which are listed below. The Patriots will take on the Jaguars and Dolphins to close out the season.

1. NE win + LV loss or tie + LAC loss OR
2. NE win + IND loss or tie + CIN loss OR
3. NE win + IND loss or tie + BAL loss + PIT loss or tie OR
4. NE win + IND loss or tie + LAC loss OR
5. NE win + BAL loss + CLE loss or tie + PIT loss or tie
