New England Patriots Are Signing RB James Robinson To A Two-year Deal
The New England Patriots are signing running back James Robinson to a two-year deal that has a maximum value of $8 million.
Robinson had a breakout rookie season in 2020, after earning the starting role with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent. Robinson rushed for 1,070 yards, and 7 touchdowns as well as 49 receptions for 344 yards and three touchdowns.
Robinson rushed for 767 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games in 2021 but had his season end after an Achilles injury and was never quite the same last season. The Patriots are betting after a full season of recovery that he will look better next season as a backup to Rhamondre Stevenson.
If NE gets JAX James Robinson, think he offers similar rushing production with more potential as a receiver
He's got great contact balance + vision to complement a physical style
Can execute gap or zone concepts, but shines between the tackles. Big play threat with daylight pic.twitter.com/yBIO5phgDU
