NBA Superstar Lebron James Is Now Part Owner Of The Boston Red Sox
NBA legend LeBron James is set to become part-owner of the Boston Red Sox in a deal that increases his holdings in the Fenway Sports Group, according to multiple reports.
The Boston Globe reported that James will also become part owner of other FSG subsidiaries, including NESN, Roush Fenway Racing and Fenway Sports Management.
John Henry, principal owner of the Fenway Sports Group is also the owner of the Boston Globe. The newspaper reported that Henry will retain control of FSG with Tom Werner as chairman and Michael Gordon as president.
This is part of a recent trend of star athletes investing into major sports franchises. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had recently purchased part of the Kansas City Royals, while Magic Johnson is part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
