Mohamed Sanu Returns To Practice After Rumors He Could Miss Several Weeks
The Patriots recently acquired WR Mohamed Sanu has returned to practice after recent rumors he could miss a few weeks of action. It’s a surprise after beat reporter Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports Boston said Thursday Sanu could be headed for a multi-week absence. For those holding out hope for Antonio Brown, this is the same reporter who said his unnamed sources said the Patriots will not sign Brown.
Sanu injured his ankle in last week’s win over Philadelphia and hasn’t practiced since, though the plan is for him to test out his injured ankle at Friday’s end-of-week session and see how it responds. With Sanu in doubt and Phillip Dorsett trying to clear the concussion protocol before the Dallas game, the Patriots will have to count on the rookies N’Keal Harry and Jacobi Myers to step up this weekend.
Belichick says he has a sense on the status of Sanu and Dorsett, but he’s “not going to sit here and ouija board it.”
In a more ominous note, offensive tackle Marcus Cannon was missing from today’s practice. No word yet on the reason.
