Mohamed Sanu Hired A WR Coach To Live With Him This Offseason Because He Is Obsessed With Having A Career Year
Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu is not messing around this season. Sanu had an injury filled, and disappointing 2nd half of the season, after being traded to the Patriots from the Atlanta Falcons. He is looking to do whatever it takes to have a career year, including hiring a receiver coach to live with him.
According to Mike Reiss Sanu has “hired a full-time coach to live with him” this offseason.
Per Reiss, Sanu is hoping the unusual setup “creates a situation where his relentless offseason work produces tangible on-field results in 2020.” Sanu is smarting after his injury-marred Patriots debut in 2019. He is reportedly “faster, quicker, leaner and in better shape” following offseason ankle surgery. Often forgotten in discussions about the Patriots, Sanu could be in for a bushel of targets after the team surrendered a second-round pick last fall.
Talk about taking things to the next level. Sanu will find himself in a different situation and could flourish under the new offensive system. If he doesn’t it will not be because of a lack of effort. Sanu has gotten in some work with both Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham in recent weeks, and hopefully he will have a great bounce back season.
