Matt Patricia Is Returning To The Patriots After Three Seasons In Detroit
After spending the last few seasons as the head coach of the Detroit Lions, Matt Patricia the former defensive coordinator for the Patriots is coming back. Patricia will have a big role with the team including evaluating personnel on a deal that’s been in the works for a week.
Patricia was fired by the Lions during this past season. After taking over the head coaching position in 2018. He was with the Patriots from 2004-17 working in a variety of coaching roles, including defensive coordinator from 2012-17. During his tenure with the Patriots, Patricia won three Super Bowls, two as defensive coordinator, and presided over a defense in 2016 that led the league in fewest points allowed.
