Julian Edelman Compares Tom Brady Playing At Gillette Next Weekend To A Stepchild Going To A Family Cookout With Divorced Parents
It is impossible to not look ahead to next Sunday night when Tom Brady, returns for the first time since leaving the Patriots in free agency. It is going to be weird for everyone. Many fans have continued to root for Brady’s success in Tampa, while many others have been indifferent, but this will be the first time that a majority of Patriots fans will openly and whole heartedly root against him.
Julian Edelman had an interesting take on the upcoming game.
“It’s definitely going be weird. It’s like going to a family barbecue… and you’re the step kid,” Edelman said. “Or you’re like the kid who has divorced parents and your mom and dad are there. And you don’t know how to react. Are they going to fight? Are they not going to fight? So it’s going to be interesting but I’m excited. Who’s not excited for it? It’s going to be an exciting game.”
Julian is not shy about where his loyalties lie though.
“Foxborough, man,” Edelman replied. “I hope Tom does great. I hope everyone stays healthy. I hope Gronk does great. But I hope it’s just a high scoring battle and maybe little Mac comes out on top.”
Julian Edelman compares Tom Brady coming back to Foxboro to being a child of divorced parents, and at a family BBQ, and not knowing how the parents will respond to each other.
Edelman says he will always pull for the Patriots, but hopes Tom Brady and Gronk play well.
