Josh McDaniels Is Staying In New England

Josh McDaniels will be not be the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. McDaniels is one of the most prominent members of coach Belichick’s staff throughout the past two decades. Josh McDaniels is one of the few members of the Patriots’ coaching staff that has been there for all six of their Super Bowl wins.

McDaniels was with the Patriots from 2001 to 2008, before taking over the head coaching position for the Denver Broncos. McDaniels returned after things did not work out as he went 11-17 in Denver. McDaniels also served as the Rams offensive coordinator before he returned to the Patriots as the offensive coordinator from 2012 until now. He is the highest-paid offensive coordinator in the NFL.

Patriots fans have had a love and hate relationship with Josh over the years. McDaniels is a master playmaker that created many memorable moments on the Patriots offense. The problem many fans have with McDaniels is he doesn’t always know when to use them. Josh has always had a tendency to be ultra aggressive during situations you should play conservative, and non aggressive when he needed to be.

Perhaps McDaniels hanging around will also make it easier to bring Tom Brady back. Hopefully the Patriots will get some new offensive weapons in the offseason so they can make another title run.
