JD Martinez Could Break An All-Time Record Today Following His Hot Start

J.D. Martinez, has started the season on fire. After sitting out on Saturday while he was under the weather he came back swinging on Sunday. JD smashed three homers and went 4-for-6 against the Orioles, including four runs and four RBIs. With at least one extra-base hit in his first eight games of the season, Martinez tied Alex Rodriguez (2007) and Sandy Alomar (1997) for the all-time record going back to 1901.

Some had questioned if Martinez had lost a step after a down year last season, and it looks like JD heard them. He is currently off to a sizzling start batting. 472 with 5 home runs, 16 RBI and 12 extra base hit in 38 at bats.

JD will have a shot at breaking the record against the Twins today.
