JC Jackson Will Remain In New England After Signing His Contract Tender
The Patriots took care of a major issue this morning when J.C. Jackson signed his tender as a restricted free agent.
That means Jackson, second in the league last year with nine interceptions, is under contract with the Patriots through the 2021 season, as he can’t sign an offer sheet with another team. The Athletic’s Jeff Howe said the standout corner is set for a “huge pay day” in 2022. Jackson joined the Patriots in 2018 as a free agent but quickly emerged as one of the best cornerbacks in the league. He finished 2nd in the league with 9 interceptions last season. It would be wise for the Patriots to lock him in to a long term deal before other teams get a shot at him in free agency next season.
#Patriots CB JC Jackson has signed his 2nd round tender, meaning no offer sheet. However, teams can still offer lower draft picks and create a trade — similar to the Malcolm Butler situation a few years back in New England. https://t.co/CMkq3GHoTR
