James White Signed A 1-Year Deal With The Patriots Worth $2.5 Million
The New England Patriots will be retaining the services of Super Bowl LI hero James White. White has been a key member of the Patriots offense for years as a highly reliable 3rd down back.
White has been with the Patriots his entire career. The Patriots drafted him in the fourth round of the 2014 draft out of Wisconsin.
He totaled 49 receptions in 2020, the second highest of any Patriots player, and has 269 regular-season receptions in his career. He has added 59 receptions in the postseason, saving his best performance for when it counted the most during the Super Bowl LI victory over the Atlanta Falcons when he had a record 14 catches and scored three touchdowns, including the game winner in overtime.
White is a member of three Super Bowl championship teams.
Patriots are giving RB James White a one-year, $2.5 million fully-guaranteed deal, per source. Deal official, as @JFowlerESPN reported it would be.
