Injury Update: Stephon Gilmore Is Expected To Miss The Rest Of The Season
Stephon Gilmore, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year is expected to miss the remainder of the season after what looked like a potential devastating knee injury during yesterday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Luckily, Gilmore appears to have escaped major damage.
According to Ian Rapoport the injury luckily did not involve the knee. Gilmore buckled and collapsed to the ground, and needed to be helped to the locker room in what looked like would be a grim outcome.
“Based on where the Patriots are, out of the playoffs now officially, Gilmore is expected to be done for the regular season,” Rapoport said. “He’s going to have tests today on more of the thigh/quad area, kind of above the knee, just to see what is there, but certainly not something where it is an injury as serious as we thought.”
