Good news: Sony Michel knee injury deemed minor
New England Patriots rookie running back Sony Michel, who missed his third consecutive practice Saturday, is dealing with a “minor knee issue,” a source told Jeff Howe of The Athletic as details emerged Saturday. Michel, whom the Patriots selected 31st overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, left Wednesday’s practice early and has not been seen since. His injury initially “concerned” the team, per Howe’s report.
On cue, got an update: It’s a minor knee issue for Sony Michel. Sigh of relief for the team.

With Georgia in 2017, Michel had 156 rushes for 1,227 yards and 16 touchdowns and expectations are high this year on the speedy running back playing a big role on offense this season in the running game.
It remains unclear when Michel will be healthy enough to return to practice and whether he will play in New England’s preseason opener next Thursday against the Washington Redskins. The Pats are off from practice the next two days and will return on Tuesday.
