Deion Sanders Thinks The Patriots Defense Is Good Enough To Win Multiple Super Bowls

The New England Patriots defense has been so good to start the season, Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders believes this defense could win numerous championships. The defense has started off with a historical start giving up only a field goal during the first three games of the season. With Bill Belichick running the defense this season, we may witness the best team of the Brady/Belichick era, and that is saying a lot.

Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders had an interesting take on the current state of the Patriots defense.

“These guys only gave up 105 yards today,” Sanders said. ” You know how good you are when you only relinquish 105 yards to opposing team’s entire offense that has Le’Veon Bell at running back? Unbelievable.”

We talk so much about this offense, but we’re forgetting about this defense. When this defense has performed like this in the past, they’ve won Super Bowls. I mean Super Bowls, plural. And these guys are playing lights out. I have never seen them at this level defensively, no one has scored.”

The Patriots have absolutely shut down the run this season, giving up only 36.7 yards per game. Some will say their schedule is soft, but keep in mind they went up against Le’Veon Bell and James Conner who are each among the upper echelon of running backs in the NFL.

If the front seven isn’t impressive enough, the secondary has been otherworldly. It is even more impressive in the current pass happy league with quarterbacks averaging 247 yards per game, which would be the highest in NFL history. The Patriots secondary is currently holding opponents to 162 yard per game. By comparison even the best secondary in recent history, the 2014 Seattle Seahawks gave up an average of 267 yards per game. This secondary is special and led by the top shutdown corner in the league with Stephon Gilmore but he is not alone. The entire secondary has been playing at an elite level. Jonathan Jones has really turned up his game and is currently ranked as the #1 corner in the NFL through the first 3 games.

I have always respected Deion Sanders opinion and if it rings true, the Patriots dynasty will not be ending anytime soon.
