Cowherd believes Tom Brady is the greatest team athlete in the history of American sports. Back in the day it didn’t take long to recognize that Brady’s name would end up among the NFL greats after winning three Super Bowl’s in his first four seasons as a starting quarterback. It wasn’t even unrealistic to think that he could eventually challenge Joe Montana for the claim of being the best ever. Those alone would have been enormous accomplishments.

Nobody in their right mind would have even suggested comparing him to Michael Jordan or Wayne Gretzky. Had anyone even suggested it they would have been laughed out of the room even by the biggest homer fans. The reality is nobody could have ever predicted what Brady has become. Brady has literally doubled up Joe Montana’s stats.
With all the championships, awards, and records, Tom Brady has reached a level that looks unattainable in the near future. Once you pass Jordan and Gretzky on the list there is nobody left to compare Brady to.
