Cam Newton Is The Favorite To Be The NFL Comeback Player of the Year
According to the latest odds on Bet Online, Cam Newton enters the season as the favorite to win the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award. Newton will face some heavy competition with the return of several top notch players who were injured last season. Ben Roethlisberger, was injured in the 2nd game of the season last year will be making his return to the Steelers. The surprise decision of Rob Gronkowski to come out of retirement and request a trade also puts him up in the race, as does the return of defensive great JJ Watt.
The Comeback Player of the Year award is given to a player that has overcome injury or adversity from the previous year. For those feeling really frisky Antonio Brown could bring huge reward if the NFL suddenly allows him to play, although that is rather unlikely.
Here are the current odds for Comeback Player of the Year, per Bet Online:
Cam Newton: +375
Ben Roethlisberger: +450
Rob Gronkowski: +550
J.J. Watt: +700
A.J. Green: +750
Matthew Stafford: +750
Nick Foles: +750
Baker Mayfield: +1000
Myles Garrett: +1200
Aldon Smith: +1600
Alex Smith: +2000
Antonio Brown: +2200
Newton is also a -400 favorite to be the Patriots week 1 starter.
If Cam Newton does end up being the comeback player of the year, there is no limit to how far he can lead the Patriots this season.
