Cam Newton Has Arrived In New England For His Physical This Weekend
Cam Newton is spending his 4th of July weekend in New England to get his team physical. The Patriots are expecting Newton to get a clean bill of health, and Newton will be in position to for the starting quarterback position at the start of the season. That is great news after Newton suffered a foot fracture last season.
Belichick has not guaranteed Newton the starting job, but he would be expected to be a heavy favorite to win the gig if he is healthy.
Newton’s team friendly deal is a low risk gamble that could have major benefits for both sides if things work out.
Newton will earn a base salary of $1.05 million with only $550,000 guaranteed, but can make up to $7.5 million in incentives. If Newton reaches those incentives, the Patriots should have a great season.
New #Patriots QB Cam Newton is in New England to complete his physical & finalize his 1-year, $1.75M contract that’s worth up to $7.5M. The team is confident in his condition & no issues at all are anticipated on his physical. It’ll take a few days to complete, but this is a go.
